You’re Making This Sound Good, But Are There Any Side Effects?

Just like any procedure, yes, the skin may appear flushed or red at first, but should subside within hours. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness to the touch, but those are all temporary and will also subside.
Other less common side effects may include temporary bruising or numbness on small areas of the skin.
All concerns and questions can also be answered by your practitioner.

NON-SURGICAL
BODY SCULPTING

Ultrasonic Cavitation:

This non-invasive/ non-surgical procedure is a method of reducing cellulite and localized fat on the:

  • Face (chin, jawline, neck)
  • Thighs (front, inner, outer, back of knee, base of booty)
  • Buttocks and hips
  • Waist and lower back
  • Upper back and flanks (that dreaded fat that hangs over our bra)
  • Abdominals (upper, middle, lower, obliques)
  • Upper arms
  • Full arms

This process uses low frequency sound waves that allow your body to break down stubborn fat deposits which are then metabolized and removed naturally through your body’s filtration system. Ultrasonic Cavitation uses no injections or anesthesia and there is no down time.

Radio Frequency Therapy:

A non-invasive/non-surgical procedure that uses low frequency sound waves to heat your tissue temperature, allowing it to rise to the point apoptosis, the natural death of fat cells, occurs.

What does this all mean?
Those stubborn fat cells are gone for good!! Some fate cells die instantly while others die in a matter of weeks. These dead, ruptured fat cells are removed naturally from your body through the lymphatic system.
RF also tightens the skin by stimulating the production of collagen by boosting its elasticity, making it tighter! This is great for tightening the skin surrounding the subcutaneous fat that cause cellulite, resulting in a significant reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
Now who doesn’t want that???!!

Ultrasonic cavitation + Radio Frequency Therapy

Ultrasonic Cavitation and Radio Frequency Therapy are usually done together, 3 days apart, for the first 3 sessions.
Then, you'll follow up once a week for the remaining 3 sessions.
It is recommended to have AT LEAST 6, if not 8 – 10 initial treatments.
Continued treatments wil then be 1 time a month, for 4 months.

Vacuum Radio Frequency Therapy:

This aaaaaamazing technique is very similar to the wonderful Chinese art of “cupping.” It tackles hard-to-shift dimpled fat that is commonly found in the:

  • Knees
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Stomach
  • Upper arms

A vacuum is created around the target area, lifting the cellulite away from the muscles and encouraging more blood flow. The vacuum is combined with Radio Frequency energy to create superficial and deep heating of connective tissue fibers, dermal collagen fibers, and fat cells. This leaves you with improved skin texture which appears tighter and more youthful!

Vacuum Radio Frequency Therapy is commonly combined with Ultrasonic Cavitation for overall increased effectiveness. Vacuum RF is much more intense than Radio Frequency Therapy. Vacuum RF has extra benefits, but with extra benefits could come extra side effects.

Ultrasonic Cavitation with Vacuum Radio Frequency Therapy is recommended with AT LEAST 6, if not 8 – 10, initial treatments. From there, you'll continue with treatments 1 time a month for 4 months.

HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound):

HIFU is the latest technology to target focused areas of fat in the fastest possible treatment time. This technology works by delivering focused energy to destroy fat cells. The high frequency of the ultrasound wave results in heating under the skin, effectively destroying the fat cells and tightening the skin in the area treated. The damaged cells are flushed away via a natural removal process through the lymphatic system that continues for up to 3 months.

So, What Areas Can This “Latest Technology” Be Used On?

It’s best for stubborn pockets of fat. You know what I’m talking about. Typically, the:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks

However, it is also used:

  • on the face for wrinkle reduction
  • tightening sagging skin on the neck
  • lifting cheeks, eyebrows and eyelids
  • enhancing jawline definition
  • tightening of the decollete
  • overall smoothing of the skin

When Will I See Results?

Although results vary patient to patient, most will see results 2 to 4 months, post treatment. Studies have shown significant improved skin elasticity of the cheeks, lower abdomen, and thighs after 12 weeks as well as perceived improvement in the appearance of their face and neck after 90 days.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

It depends on the area treated and the bulk of the adipose tissue, the extent of sagging skin, and the desired result. Usually 2 sessions are sufficient, but if you would like 3 or more, they will be spaced 3 months apart.
Maintenance is required once a year.

Can I Do HIFU And Other Treatments?

HIFU can also be combined with several other treatments offered to help you achieve your desired results. This can be discussed further with your practitioner.

Am I A Good Candidate?

Anyone with drooping skin or considering a facelift or liposuction but isn’t in a rush to go under the knife just yet is a good candidate.  All skin types and skin tones can be treated. We see mostly those over the age of 30 with mild to moderate skin laxity. Those with loose or photo-damaged skin may need more treatments before seeing results. Although results won’t last as long as a tummy tuck or facelift, you will get great results, pay less, and have waaay less pain.

*HIFU is NOT recommended for people with the following:

• Open wounds or lesions on the face, neck and/or body
• Severe or cystic acne on the face, neck and/or body
• Pacemakers and electronic device implants in the treated area
• Heart Conditions
• An active systemic or local skin disease that may alter wound healing
• Herpes
• Autoimmune disease
• Diabetes
• Epilepsy
• Bell’s palsy
• Breast or mechanical implant areas
• Areas where there is any dermal filler
• Areas that have metal stents
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound can be used as a one-off treatment to firm and lift the face and neck skin. It uses ultrasound energy to encourage and stimulate natural collagen production, which results in firmer skin. It will provide noticeable effects through an “ultrasonic facelift” without making any cuts to the skin.

Procedure Time: 60 – 90 minutes (varies on area)
Sensitivity Period: Up to 10 days
Visible Results: 2 to 4 months

Target Areas:

  • Face (chin, jawline, neck)
  • Thighs (front, inner, outer, back of knee, base of booty)
  • Buttocks and hips
  • Waist and lower back
  • Upper back and flanks (that dreaded fat that hangs over our bra)
  • Abdominals (upper, middle, lower, obliques)
  • Upper arms
  • Full arms

**How Does HIFU Different From Laser Treatments?**

HIFU uses sound energy which has unique properties that allow it to bypass the surface of the skin to treat depths other non-invasive cosmetic devices can’t. HIFU ultrasound stimulates collagen production in the skin’s foundation resulting in a clinically significant lift of tissue over 2-3 months.
Lasers rely on light energy, which cannot reach the deeper layers of the skin and can only reach an optimal temperature. So basically, lasers are only treating superficial skin and not designed to lift skin. The two technologies often treat different types of skin issues, so they are usually used in conjunction with each other.

HIFU is a relatively new cosmetic treatment for skin tightening that some consider noninvasive, painless, and a replacement for a facelift.

This device was cleared by the FDA to improve lines and wrinkles.

Liposonix is unique among body contouring and is all about focus and intensity. Professional Liposonix uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to create a powerful thermal effect that destroys targeted fat in the abdomen and flanks. Liposonix treatments focus energy at specific depths in the fat without damaging surrounding tissue or non-targeted areas. Treatments can be customized to target specific trouble spots, or work across large treatment areas in a single session.

Liposonix is a safe, non-invasive, non-surgical option for people who are close to their ideal shape but have stubborn areas of fat that just won’t go away, no matter how much they exercise or diet. The procedure takes about one hour. While individual results can vary, patients typically achieve a waistline reduction of approximately one inch (2.5cm) within 8-12 weeks after receiving a single treatment.

Although 2 treatments will work, most patients see best results with 2-3 treatments, 3 months after the initial treatment, with a yearly maintenance.

Procedure Time: approx. 60 minutes

Target Areas:

  • Upper Arms
  • Full Arms
  • Full Abdominals (top, bottom, sides)
  • Thighs
  • Buttock and Hips (Focusing on banana roll, crease under the tushy, lifting the tush, rounding out the sides and working on the side muffin top)
  • Back and Waist
